چکیده
The need to develop green steelmaking techniques has led the replacement of reducing agents such as CO with H2. H2 and N2/H2 mixtures can be used for carbothermal reduction iron ore. In this study, we investigated swelling index ore pellets in a forming gas (N2/H2) atmosphere at temperatures 700–1000 °C compared it that pure experimental results showed increases increasing temperature both atmospheres. maximum was reached approximately 5 min into process, while atmosphere, after 25–45 reduction, depending on temperature. When exceeded 900 °C, greater than 20%. Scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy performed detect changes microstructure chemical composition samples. nonreduced areas reduced during process were analysed using light optical microscopy. Microwaves Applied to Carbothermic Reduction of Iron Ore Pellets
Results of reducibility tests of reduction conducted on iron ore pellets with carbon are presented in this work. Work done is centered on reduction kinetics using carbon as reducing agent with conventional heat supply (heat transfer process) compared with reduction kinetics where heat is supplied by microwaves to the whole volume. Ore used in this work is called "Alzada" which has reducibility ...
متن کاملEffect of Using Oxygen-Enriched Gas during Induration Process of Iron Ore Pellets Containing Solid Fuel
In this research, the effects of oxygen injection during the induration process were studied in order to improve the quality specifications and increase the rate of production of the iron oxide pellets. Several experiments were carried out in palletizing pilot plant in different conditions of oxygen injection. The results suggested that if only the extra oxygen was injected into the furnace in ...

In this study, the isothermal reduction of iron oxide pellets, made of Iranian Chadormalo, Gole-gohar, and Sangan iron ores, was investigated in the temperature range of 900-1100°C. Tabas, Pabdana, Babnizoo, Karmozd, and Shahrood domestic coals were used as reductants. Parametric studies were performed and the effects of such factors as temperature, average particle size of iron ore and coal fi...
